A webcam showing how the construction of the Sagrada Familia is progressing has become available live. The full name of this exceptional structure is the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family (Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia or Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia). This temple, begun in 1882 in Barcelona, has become a true icon of modern architecture.
Antonio Gaudi, the great architect, took upon himself the creation of this Roman Catholic temple intended for worship and introspection. Attention to detail, such as the daylight contrasts inside, was particularly important. At the moment, about 70% of the work has been completed, and the Sagrada Familia has become one of the most visited monuments in Spain. The project is planned to be completed by the time of the centenary of Gaudi’s death, that is, by 2026.
