Norway, officially known as the Kingdom of Norway, is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe, occupying the western and northern parts of the Scandinavian Peninsula.

Norway also includes the remote Arctic island of Jan Mayen and the Svalbard archipelago. Bouvet Island, located in the Subantarctic, is a dependent territorial entity.

In addition, Norway lays claim to Antarctic territories such as Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land. The capital and largest city of Norway is Oslo.
