Situated on the eastern part of Mount Kashiwara in Sumoto City on Awaji Island, the Monkey Center, established in 1967, is home to approximately 300 monkeys. Notably, the monkeys of Awaji Island are known for their “well-behaved” and sociable nature, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stroll along the trail without concerns of them leaping onto visitors or attempting to take belongings.
