Port Jackson, located on the southeast coast of Australia, is a bay with three main parts. This bay includes an area 20 kilometers long and 1 to 3 kilometers wide known as Sydney Bay, which is the southern and widest part of the bay.
It has a curved shape, which provides it with natural protection from ocean waves. In addition, the bay includes Middle Harbor and North Harbor Bay, as well as a common strait of coastline, which is 1.4 kilometers long and opens to the Pacific Ocean.
