Taman Bay, located off the eastern shore of the Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, stretches between Chushka and Tuzlinskaya Spit. It opens to the west and penetrates 16 km into the mainland, having a width of 8 km at the entrance and a depth of up to 5 m.

The coastline is mostly low-lying. In the southwestern part of the bay, the Tuzlinskaya Spit has a channel dug by fishermen. Near the Chushka Spit there are a number of small islands, including Krupinina, Dzendzik and Lisiy. On the northern side of the bay is Dinskaya Bay. The Taman Peninsula extends along the southern coast of the bay, and along the shore of the bay are the settlements of Taman, Primorsky, Sennoy and Garkusha.
The bay is frozen from mid-December to March, and the area is heavily fished. Administratively, Taman Bay is part of the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.
