Trinity Suburb is a historic district in Minsk that you can view live through this webcam. Located in the northeastern part of the historical center, on the left bank of the Svislach River, this area once served as an important trading and administrative center of the capital of Belarus.
In the northwest of the Trinity Suburb is the Tatar Sloboda, settled by Lipka Tatars from the 15th century (the first settlement recorded in 1428) until the mid-20th century, as well as the Starostin Sloboda. To the north lies the Storoževka area, to the east is Zolotaya Gorka, and to the south are the central areas of Vysoky and Nizky Markets.
The first Catholic church in Minsk was located in the suburb. The area also hosted the Ascension Monastery with its eponymous church, which has not survived to this day, the Borisoglebsk Church, the Basilian Women’s Monastery of the Holy Trinity (partially preserved), and the church and monastery of a Catholic monastic order. Today, this suburb is one of the most beloved places for locals and visitors to Minsk.
