Live webcam capturing the activity of the Merapi volcano in Central Java, Indonesia. This particular stratovolcano holds the distinction of being the most active among the 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia, and it has been known for frequent eruptions, emitting lava and gas clouds in recent years.
The camera is positioned at Jamburejo Hamlet, Kemiren Village, Srumbung District, Magelang, within the Indonesian state of Central Java. It sits approximately 9.7 kilometers from the summit of Mount Merapi, positioned at an elevation of 30 meters above ground level.
In addition to the visual footage, the stream provides real-time seismic activity graphs and audio transmitted from the BPPTKG’s VHF Radio Transmitter at the Klatakan Station. Any discernible wobbling or undulating sound in the audio signifies a vibration.
