Manhattan Beach stretches along the Pacific Ocean coast in the city of Manhattan Beach in the southwestern part of Greater Los Angeles, and is one of the most expensive and prestigious beach towns in California.
It is 3.4 km long and ranges from 200 to 500 meters wide, with a promenade and bike path running along the beach, lined with expensive homes of the rich and successful. The beach has all the necessary infrastructure and is very popular for beach volleyball and surfing. Nearby is Los Angeles International Airport, so you can see planes taking off. The beach is home to Manhattan Beach Pier, a 283-meter-long pier accessible via Manhattan Beach Boulevard, and houses the Roundhouse Aquarium.
