Armenia, officially known as the Republic of Armenia, is a state in the Transcaucasus, located in the north of Western Asia, in the northeast of the Armenian Highlands, and is landlocked. This is one of the oldest states in the world.
The territory of the Republic of Armenia is only a tenth of historical Armenia. According to the 2022 census, the population of Armenia was 2,928,914 people, and its territory covers 29,743 km². According to some data, the country ranks 136th in the world in terms of population and 138th in territory.
The capital of Armenia is Yerevan, and the official language is Armenian.
