Czech Republic, is a nation situated in Central Europe. It shares borders with Poland to the northeast (stretching for 796 km), Germany to the northwest and west (covering 810 km), Austria to the south (extending for 466 km), and Slovakia to the southeast (spanning 252 km). The total length of its borders amounts to 2324 km, and the country covers an area of 78,866 km².

The modern Czech Republic emerged following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia through the Velvet Divorce on January 1, 1993. It encompasses historical regions such as Bohemia (comprising the Czech Republic itself), Moravia, and a portion of Silesia. The nation operates as a unitary state and is recognized as a developed country. Prague, the capital, not only serves as a major tourist attraction but also stands as the largest city in the country.

Since March 12, 1999, the Czech Republic has been a member of NATO, and as of May 1, 2004, it became a member of the European Union.
