Using a live webcam, you can watch in real time Liyu Lake, also known as Carp Lake, located in Chinan Village, Shufeng Township, Hualien County, Taiwan.
The name “Liyu” is translated from English as “carp”, which indicates the presence of many carp in the lake. This name comes from the nearby Liyu Mountain.
The lake is about 1.6 km long and 930 meters wide, making it the largest inland body of water in Hualien County, with a total area of 104 hectares. It is located at the foot of Mount Liyu.
Having developed into a scenic destination, the lake has become a popular destination for various activities such as light boating and water sports. There is a bicycle path about 5 km long along the lake, as well as walking trails for walking along the shore. Adjacent to the lake, China National Forest Recreation Area and Mukumugi showcase old logging trains and local Aboriginal culture. Every April the lake comes alive with thousands of fireflies.
