This is one of the eight radial highways of Minsk. it is oriented on Brest and is about 7.8 km long. It was named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky in 1979, from Bogushevich Square to the Ring Road of Minsk, covering such a great distance as 7,8 kilometers.
In the 2000s, this section from Rosa Luxemburg Street to Khmelevsky Street had undergone reconstruction which resulted in bypass elimination and demolition of land belonging to industrial enterprises.
Thus, it became possible to establish a direct six-lane road at this place. A new avenue reconstruction took place between 2009 and 2014 with the widening of the roadway up to eight lanes, and two traffic interchanges construction which were all accompanied by building underground passages for pedestrians in at least eight places with very wide sidewalks and four subway stations opening.
