Zlín is a city and the capital of Zlín Region located on the banks of the Dřevnice River in the historical region of Moravia in southeastern Czech Republic. It covers an area of 102.8 km² and is home to approximately 75,000 people. Zlín is one of the important industrial cities in Czech Republic, for example, it is the base of the major footwear company “Baťa”, which in the early 20th century became one of the symbols of Czech Republic.
Namestí Míru Square is the main square of Zlín, situated in the heart of the city. One part of the square is paved with tiles and stones, while the other part features a small garden with a fountain. The square is surrounded by low Czech buildings housing cafes, restaurants, and shops. Facing Namestí Míru Square is the facade of Zlín Town Hall, where the City Hall is located. Namestí Míru Square is the political, social, and cultural center of the city, as well as a venue for various public events.
