Witness the captivating views of the ancient harbor of Thassos through our live-streaming webcam, located right in front of the island’s archaeological museum.

This extraordinary site features both a historical military port and an open commercial area known as “Evreokastro” offering a glimpse into the past with one of the best-preserved ancient ports in Greece.

The military port, encased by a seawall that extended from the land fortifications into the sea, was a significant defensive structure from the late 6th to early 5th century BC.

Although the wall that once separated the port from the city has long disappeared, you can still see the remnants of the two city gates leading towards the harbor. These gates, which have stood the test of time, hint at the historical connectivity between the city and its ports.

Reinforced with circular towers by the end of the 4th century BC, the fortifications foundations and the jetty remain visible even today. On days when the water is clear, viewers can discern the outlines of the ancient harbor’s structures from the comfort of their screens.
