A webcam displays the skiing area “Markudzhik” at the Borovets ski resort in Bulgaria. The resort has three skiing zones – Borovets, Yastrebets, and Markudzhika, each with its own features.
The “Markudzhika” skiing area is the highest at the resort, located at altitudes of 2300 – 2500 meters and has 5 slopes of varying difficulty: Markudzhika 1, Markudzhika 2A, Markudzhika 2B, Markudzhika 3, and the green trail Sukhar. All these trails are short. Markudzhik is serviced by 4 T-bar lifts, and the advantage of this skiing area is that the lifts are fast and there are few people here.
The Markudzhika skiing area has two drawbacks – its high altitude and consequently strong winds, making it challenging to descend to the Yastrebets skiing area below. In the background, the webcam will show Mount Musala, 2925 meters high, the highest mountain in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.
