Reutlingen is a city in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany, located at the foot of the Achalm mountain, 16 km east of Tübingen and 40 km south of Stuttgart – the capital and largest city of Baden-Württemberg. Its area is 87 km², with a population of around 113,000 residents. The city dates back to the 4th century, and today it is one of the leading centers of the country’s textile industry.
Among the main attractions of Reutlingen are: the Church of Our Lady, built in Gothic style in the 13th – 14th centuries, the 14th-century Church of St. Nicholas, the town hall and Market Square in the city center, as well as Spreuerhofstraße, a 31 cm wide street, which is the narrowest street in the world. The street emerged as a result of reconstruction in 1726 after a severe fire in the city. Spreuerhofstraße is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the narrowest street on Earth. Reutlingen’s Market Square is located in the heart of the city and is a venue for public events and festivals.
