It is located approximately 7 km (4 miles) northeast of Krosno and 38 km (24 miles) south of the regional capital Rzeszow.
Korczyna had a picturesque Jewish community before the Holocaust. Although the center for Jewish studies and the synagogue no longer exist, the Korca Jewish Cemetery still exists on the outskirts of Korčina.
