A live webcam shows a view of Lagoa do Fogo, a lake on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, belonging to Portugal. Lagoa do Fogo is the second largest lake on the island, its name translates to “Fire Lake“. It is located in the caldera of an extinct volcano that formed about 15,000 years ago.
The lake is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, with a crater and hot springs located northwest of Lagoa do Fogo. The lake is 30 meters deep, 7 kilometers long, and approximately 4 kilometers wide. There are several hiking trails around Lagoa do Fogo, such as the “Lombadas Fogo Lake,” where you can observe the local flora and fauna.
