A live webcam stream offers a captivating view of the Fushimi Inari Shrine, a renowned Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto.
Known for its iconic thousands of vermilion torii gates, the stream captures the paths that wind through the sacred Mount Inari’s forested slopes, which rise 233 meters above the shrine grounds. The shrine is one of the most significant sites dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice, and is adorned with numerous fox statues, believed to be the deity’s messengers.
The shrine’s rich history dates back to well before Kyoto became Japan’s capital in 794.
