This live webcam provides a direct view of the bustling main square of Eminönü, where the New Mosque (Yeni Camii) and the Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı) stand prominently.

Eminönü is a crucial transport hub with several ferry terminals on its waterfront and a stop for tram T1.

To the southeast, Eminönü borders the Sirkeci area, while to the northwest, it merges with the commercial districts of Tahtakale and Küçükpazar. Further inland from Eminönü lies another commercial district, Mahmutpaşa. When it was an independent district, it was the smallest district in Istanbul by area after Adalar.

The New Mosque, also known as the Valide Sultan Mosque after partial reconstruction and completion between 1660 and 1665, is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, Turkey.

It is situated on the shore of the Golden Horn, at the southern end of the Galata Bridge, and is a notable landmark of Istanbul, marking the transition from the old historical city center to the Beyoğlu (Pera) district. The mosque is a prominent example of the Sultanate of Women period in the Ottoman Empire.
