There are 5 main piers on the island of Cozumel. These include Punta Langosta, the International Pier (SSA) and Puerta Maya which are designed to receive cruise ships. The ferry pier, located in the city center, is used for passenger ferries operating in Playa del Carmen and sometimes also for tenders from cruise ships.
There is also a pier south of the central part of the city, next to the lighthouse, which serves the purpose of transporting cars, but is not intended to receive passengers from cruise ships.
The Punta Langosta cruise pier is located south of the city center and just a few minutes’ walk from the main square and central gathering places. The International and Puerta Maya cruise piers are further south and easily accessible by taxi, also a short drive from the central gathering points.
