Egypt, officially known as the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a nation that stretches across the northeast of Africa and includes the Sinai Peninsula in the southwest of Asia.
Its borders encompass the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Gaza Strip of Palestine and Israel to the northeast, the Red Sea to the east, Sudan to the south, and Libya to the west. In the northeast, Egypt is separated from Jordan and Saudi Arabia by the Gulf of Aqaba.
Cairo holds the position of being both the capital and the largest city in Egypt. Additionally, Alexandria, the second-largest city, holds significant importance as an industrial and tourist hub along the Mediterranean coast. Egypt boasts a substantial population of around 100 million individuals, making it the 14th-most populated country globally and the third-most populated in Africa, following Nigeria and Ethiopia.
