This live webcam offers a direct view of Beyazıt Square, located north of Ordu Street in the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. Officially named Freedom Square (Hürriyet Meydanı), it is better known as Beyazıt Square, after the early Ottoman Bayezid II Mosque situated on one side.

The square was once the site of the Forum of Theodosius (also known as Forum Tauri), built by Constantine the Great. In 1960, Turgut Cansever proposed a redesign for Beyazıt Square, though the project was never completed. In 2022, Beyazıt Square was fully reorganized according to an urban design project prepared by Ali Kural and Deniz Çalış Kural.

Opposite the mosque, on the other side of the square, is the medrese, which was part of its complex. This building used to house the Museum of Calligraphy. After being closed for many years, it was under restoration in 2022.

On one side of the square is the main entrance to Istanbul University, with buildings designed by French architect Marie-Auguste Antoine Bourgeois. The entrance features a grand Neo-Renaissance arch. From the square, you can also see the Beyazıt Tower, which once served as a fire-watch tower, located within the university grounds.
