Puerto Escondido is a city located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean between the cities of Santa Maria Huatulco and Acapulco, 800 km south of Mexico City, with a population of 29,000 people. Playa Zicatela is the longest beach in Puerto Escondido and a popular spot for surfers.
Surfing competitions are held here every year in August and November. From April to November, high waves attract a large number of surfers to the area. Along the entire coast of Puerto Escondido, there are numerous hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars, and cafes.
