Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church

The first Christian church was built on this site already in the 7th century AD. After 8 centuries, the church was completely destroyed by an earthquake. A Gothic temple was built on these ruins , but the building was rebuilt many times as a result of many earthquakes. In 1867, a bell tower was built at the conclusion of the architectural ensemble .

The icon of the Mother of God of Pontus is kept in this church, it is believed that the icon was saved from the church of Santa Maria in Punta, where the Napoleonic troops set up a stable. The decoration of the church itself is quite sparse , there are fragments of ancient paintings on the walls somewhere.

You can get to the church on foot from Budva , the church is active, so services are held here daily and the entrance to the church is free.
