Le Havre is a city and commune in the northern part of France, in the Normandy region, is a sub-prefecture in the Seine-Maritime department, and its port is one of the largest in France.

Le Havre City Hall (Mairie du Havre, Hôtel de ville du Havre), which has a webcam, is a local government building in Le Havre, Normandy. In 2017, it was recognized as a historical monument of the French state.

The building was designed by Auguste Perret and construction began in 1953. After Perret’s death in 1955, the completion of the project was entrusted to Jacques Tournant, and it was completed in 1958. Perret’s task was to rebuild the city after the destruction caused by the Second World War. The city was rebuilt using concrete from 1945 to 1964. The Town Hall is 143 meters long and its 18-storey tower is 70 meters high. Since 2005, the renovated city of Perret has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Initially, his project was controversial, as some members of the city council advocated the reconstruction of the destroyed 1859 city hall, which was located on the same site. The tower also faced criticism because similar skyscrapers were considered American rather than French.
