Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, commonly known as Château Frontenac, stands as a historic gem in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Nestled in Old Quebec, within the Upper City’s historic district, the hotel graces the southern side of the Place d’Armes.
Designed by Bruce Price and constructed by the Canadian Pacific Railway, Chateau Frontenac is now under the capable management of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Unveiled in 1893, this majestic 18-story chateau-style edifice reaches a height of 79.9 meters, further emphasized by its elevated location at 54 meters.
As one of the pioneer grand railway hotels, it was honored with the title of National Historic Site of Canada in 1981. Over the years, the hotel has undergone three expansions, with the most recent significant enlargement taking place in 1993.
