Odori Boulevard is the main street in Sapporo, located in the city center. Odori translates from Japanese as a large street. The 100-meter long Odori Boulevard stretches from east to west, dividing the city into northern and southern parts.
The boulevard was established in 1869 during the reconstruction and improvement of the city’s central part. Various festivals and events are regularly held here, such as the Snow Festival or Lilac Festival. In the summer, the boulevard is adorned with flower beds, while in winter, it is illuminated with beautiful lights. Near Odori Boulevard stands the 147-meter tall Sapporo TV Tower. Odori Boulevard and the Sapporo TV Tower are the main attractions of the city.
