Marmaris is a seaport and a popular resort in Turkey, located on the coast of the Aegean Sea in the Mugla province in the southwest of the country, 300 km west of Antalya and 250 km south of Izmir. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with an island at the entrance to the bay protecting the city beaches from strong waves. The city is situated at the confluence of the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
The climate here is Mediterranean with hot summers and warm winters. The temperature in summer stays around +30°C and sometimes reaches +40°C.
