Live cam view on Tokyo Skytree

Tokyo Skytree stands as a prominent television tower situated in the Sumida district of Tokyo, Japan. It holds the distinction of being the tallest television tower globally and ranks as the third tallest structure globally, following the Burj Khalifa and Merdeka 118.

The collective height of the television tower is an impressive 634 meters, with 163 meters attributed to the antenna. This height is nearly double that of the Tokyo Television Tower. The tower’s height was carefully selected so that the numbers 6, 3, and 4 would harmonize with “Musashi,” the name of the historical area where modern Tokyo is situated. The construction of Tokyo Skytree reached completion in 2012.

During its construction phase, the tower was referred to as New Tokyo Tower. However, the final name “Tokyo Sky Tree” was selected through an internet-based competition that took place from April to May 2008.
