Hong Kong is located between the South China Sea and mainland China, it is a special administrative region of China. Hong Kong includes Hong Kong Island, the Kowloon Peninsula, Lantau Island, as well as the New Territories of Hong Kong, totaling about 250 islands. Today, Hong Kong is the leading financial center in Asia and the world, often referred to as the Asian New York. It has its own stock exchange and one of the largest seaports in the world.
The climate in Hong Kong is subtropical, with dry and wet seasons. The dry season lasts from December to March, when the wind blows from mainland China, bringing dry and sunny weather. The air temperature during this time ranges from +15 to +20 degrees Celsius. The wet season lasts from April to November, during this time the wind blows from the Pacific Ocean, bringing heavy rainfall and temperatures rising to +27 degrees Celsius. During the wet season, Hong Kong is often hit by typhoons and hurricanes.
