Bansko is a small town surrounded by high mountains, serving as the administrative center of the Pirin region in Bulgaria. The town boasts many landmarks and architectural monuments, with about 120 houses holding historical value.
The Bansko ski resort, with 15 km of ski slopes, sprawls around the town. A good snow cover forms on the resort from mid-December, marking the start of the ski season. The resort is divided into three skiing zones: Chalin-Valog (5 km from Bansko), Shiligarnika (12 km from Bansko), and Polyana Banderishka (14 km from Bansko).
