Murmansk holds the distinction of being the world’s largest city situated beyond the Arctic Circle. Positioned along the rugged eastern coast of the Kola Bay in the Barents Sea, it stands out as one of Russia’s major ports. Notably, Murmansk benefits from the warm North Atlantic Current, rendering it an ice-free port and distinguishing it among the northern and north-western ports of Russia.
