This live webcam is located on Oita Front Street near Funai Castle and shows the city of Oita in Kyushu, Japan.
The installed camera is aimed at the Otemachi promenade park and the street in front of the Oita Funai Castle in the Otemachi district, which is located near Beppu Bay in the northern part of the city.
You can follow traffic along this main street leading to the beautiful Oita Funai Park, where to the north are the ruins of Funai Castle built in the 16th century.
Funai Castle is a 16th-century historic building located in Oita City, Oita Prefecture, Japan. It was built by Otomo Sorin in 1562 and this lord held most of the island of Kyushu at that time.
Initially, the castle had several towers (yagura), but all of them were destroyed along with the three-storey keep in 1743. In the 20th century, a covered bridge across the moat and some towers were restored. The original remains include part of the walls and the moat.
