The bobsleigh track was built with the help of Roland Upatnieks, a famous Latvian luge skier. He was so obsessed with luge that he sought to build a track for the Muryan Sports school. The track was built in 77 days, built by children, helped by the military-on their own from wooden planks. The track was used for about 10 years , then it was decided to build a modern bobsleigh track. Now the track is destroyed and abandoned , if you decide to visit, be careful – the boards can break right under you.
