Therefore, today the city is a mixture of former villages, such as Baciu (Bácsfalu, Batschendorf), Turcheş (Türkös, Türkeschdorf), Cernatu (Csernátfalu, Zerndorf) and Satulung (Hosszúfalu, Langendorf) that form its main areas.

The first records mentioning these villages date back to the XI century chronicles calling them ‘seven villages’.

The first official mention has it that King Louis I issued a decree on May 16th, 1366 to assign Stanislaus a territory stretching between Timiş and Olt rivers whom He entrusted with his domain. Afterward, this land came under the jurisdiction of Kronstadt Saxons (Brasov).
