The Merrill Cazier Library now has a webcam that provides a live feed. This academic library serves Utah State University students and the residents of Logan, Utah.

Opened in September 2005, the Merrill-Cazier Library integrated the Cazier Science and Technology Library, expanding the space to 189,000 square feet (17,600 m2) and replacing the old Merrill Library, which had existed for 74 years. The name of the library was established in honor of Milton R. Merrill, former vice president of the University of Utah, and Stanford Casier, former president of the same university.

The original Merrill Library was built in 1930 by the Whitmeyer Company of Ogden, Utah, and was expanded in 1967.

The Cazier Science and Engineering Library was added to the campus in 1995 and designed by architects Lee and Michael Timchul in New York, New York. An atrium was built around Dale Eldred’s installation “08 Incident of Light and Time”.

Since 2003, the library has undergone a major expansion designed by EHDD Architecture of San Francisco, California, spanning 190,000 square feet.

The Merrill-Cazier Library celebrated its 100th anniversary as a regional repository for U.S. government records.
