You can watch Ala-Too Square, the heart of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, through a live webcam.
Around this square are key historical attractions such as the State Historical Museum, the People’s Friendship Monument, Oak Park with the Open Air Sculpture Museum and St. Nicholas Church, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city.
From 1984 to 2003, there was a monument to Lenin on the square, then it was moved to Old Square, and in its place a sculpture of the winged woman “Erkindik” was installed, symbolizing freedom. In 2011, it was replaced by a monument to the hero of the folk epic “Aikol Manas”, Manas the Magnanimous. In the same year, a monument to Chingiz Aitmatov was erected. In 2012, a black and white monument was erected in memory of the April 2010 events and the shooting of a demonstration in Bishkek in 2002.
On Ala-Too Square you can also see a flagpole 45 meters high with the State Flag measuring 10×15 meters, next to which the guard is changing.
