Tashkent is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, administratively subordinate to the republic. It is the most populous city in Central Asia with more than 3 million inhabitants. It is the heart of the Tashkent urban agglomeration and plays a key role in the political, economic, cultural and scientific life of the country.
