The cave is part of a large underground karst complex in the Demenovskaya Valley. It is located under the Low Tatras Mountains. The entrance to the cave is located at an altitude of 870 meters above sea level, it takes an average of half an hour to get from the parking lot along a winding path. You can choose 2 routes for inspection of your choice, one is 2150m long and the second is 1150 meters.
Here an underground river flows and you can see its lakes, unique with cedar ornaments. The cave is one of the most beautiful caves in Europe. The temperature here all year round is from 6 to 7 degrees Celsius.
Location
Its location is on the right side of the Demänovská Valley and the northern side of the Low Tatras, inside the Demänovská Valley National Nature Reserve and on the territory of the Low Tatras National Park. The entrance to the cave is located in the Tochishte valley at an altitude of 870 meters above sea level.
Access to the cave
The cave is located about 13 kilometers south of the town of Liptovsky Mikulas, in the Low Tatras, on the right side of the Demänovská valley, a few kilometers below the famous Jasna ski resort. The snake path leading from the parking lot to the cave is 400 meters long and 67 meters high. The ascent to the cave takes about 10-15 minutes and at the same time serves as an educational trail.
