Kilauea Volcano is still at Advisory, and the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says the Halema'uma'u eruption remains paused after episode 55 on October 17.

The observatory has now pushed the forecast for episode 56 fountaining to Nov. 1-7, 2026. That keeps attention on the summit, where the main camera sits about 2 km from the summit and looks toward the active area.

Kilauea is a shield volcano on the southeast coast of Hawai'i Island, and Smithsonian records say it rises to 1,222 m. They also note its long history of summit and rift eruptions, including the East Rift Zone run that began in 1983. The volcano is one of five that make up the island of Hawaii, and much of its surface is made of lava flows that are less than about 1,100 years old.
