Kīlauea Volcano is at ADVISORY, and the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says the Halema'uma'u eruption remains paused after episode 55 on October 17.

The observatory has pushed the forecast for episode 56 fountaining to November 2-9. For now, the summit area is the place to watch, especially around Halema'uma'u.

Kīlauea rises on the southeast side of Hawai'i Island and is a shield volcano, according to the Smithsonian. It has written history going back to 1820, and its summit caldera and rift zones have shaped much of the island's recent lava landscape. The Kīlauea Volcano camera in Hawaii, USA, is about 2 km from the summit, close enough to keep the crater in view when conditions allow.
