A live webcam shows the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany in real time. The Brandenburg Gate is a monumental triumphal arch and architectural landmark, the main attraction and symbol of Berlin, as well as a national symbol of all of Germany.

It was built between 1789-1791 by order of the Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm II, designed by architect Karl Gotthard Langhans, and is the only gate that remains from the city fortress’s original 18 gates. The Brandenburg Gate is a massive neoclassical structure, 20.3 meters tall and 62.5 meters wide, consisting of 12 columns arranged in six rows. The central passage of the Brandenburg Gate is 5.65 meters wide, while the others are 3.80 meters wide. The triumphal arch is crowned by a 6-meter sculpture called the “Quadriga of Victory” – a chariot with four horses, driven by the ancient Roman goddess of victory, Victoria.

The Brandenburg Gate is located at Pariser Platz in the central district of Berlin-Mitte, the capital of Germany, at the western end of Unter den Linden boulevard. Behind the gate lies the large Tiergarten park, covering approximately 210 hectares, making it the largest urban park in Germany.

From the Brandenburg Gate, you can see the Victory Column at Grosser Stern Square, built between 1864-1873 by architect Heinrich Strack as a national monument to the Unification of Germany in 1871. Just a few minutes’ walk north of the gate is the famous Reichstag building, and a 20-minute walk down Unter den Linden street will lead you to the Berlin Cathedral – the largest Protestant church in all of Germany.
