Sylt, once an independent island in northern Germany, is now a part of the Nordfriesland district within Schleswig-Holstein. It’s famous for its unique shoreline configuration.

This island is a significant member of the North Frisian Islands, proudly claiming its title as the largest island in North Frisia. Situated in the northernmost part of Germany, it’s renowned for its attractive tourist destinations, with Westerland, Kampen, and Wenningstedt-Braderup leading the way, and for its extensive 40-kilometer sandy coastline.

Sylt frequently garners media attention due to its exposed location in the North Sea and its ongoing struggle with land erosion during storm tides.

Starting from 1927, Sylt has been linked to the mainland through the Hindenburgdamm causeway. In recent years, it has become a favorite destination for the German elite and tourists seeking glimpses of celebrities.
