Acapulco is a port city and one of the most famous and oldest tourist centers in Mexico. Together with the resort of Cancun, it is one of the most popular resorts in the country. Acapulco is located on the shore of Santa Lucia Bay in the Pacific Ocean, 300 km southwest of Mexico City. The dry season lasts from November to May, while a significant amount of rainfall occurs from June to October. Acapulco is an important seaport in the country, and it is also home to the Acapulco Yacht Club, making the resort city one of the leading centers for sailing sports in Mexico.
