Initially, this palace was founded as the summer residence of Tsar Peter the Great. The palace and Park ensemble was named Catherine’s in honor of the wife of Peter the Great.
In total, three palace parks were created – the Upper, Lower and part of the park leading to the sea. In the park there is the largest rose garden in the city and a real Japanese garden. There are also three art museums, a children’s museum, a swan pond with a fountain, a gazebo and a cafe.
To see all the sights of the park you will need a lot of time, so we advise you to set aside a whole day for it.
