This live webcam stream offers a view of Skopun, a charming village in the Faroe Islands.
Although the region has been inhabited since the Middle Ages, Skopun was officially founded in 1833. Initially, the villagers lived off fishing, building their homes close to the water.
The village features a church built in 1897 from timber sourced from an older church in Vestmanna. Skopun is connected to Sandur, the island’s main town, by the Faroe Islands’ first road, constructed in 1917.
The village’s harbor, originally built in 1926 and later expanded, was equipped with a protective gate in 1982.
