Khan Shatyr is a tent-shaped entertainment complex located in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.

You can enjoy all these beauties through a webcam that broadcasts in real time.

This architectural project, made in a neo-futuristic style, was presented by the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on December 9, 2006.

Under a huge tent covering an area of more than 10 football fields, there is a city-level amusement park, a shopping and entertainment complex with plazas and cobblestone streets, a boat pond, a shopping mall, mini golf and an indoor beach resort.

The roof is made from clear ETFE pads supplied by Vector Foiltec, suspended from a network of cables stretched from a central spire. This transparent material allows sunlight to pass through, and an air-conditioned heating and cooling system helps maintain a comfortable temperature inside – between 15 and 30°C in the main area and between 19 and 24°C in retail areas. Outside, the temperature ranges from -35 to 35 °C throughout the year.
