A live webcam shows Freedom Square in Kharkiv, Ukraine in real-time. Freedom Square is the main square of Kharkiv, covering an area of 11.9 hectares, making it the 6th largest square in Europe and the 12th largest in the world. Established in 1923-1925, it was originally named “Dzerzhinsky Square.” During the German occupation, it was known as the German Army Square, but after the liberation of Kharkiv and Ukraine, it regained its original name. Following the collapse of the USSR, it was renamed “Freedom Square.”

The square is home to numerous architectural monuments and historical buildings, including Kharkiv National University, the House of State Industry, the Kharkiv Hotel, and the Kharkiv Regional Administration building. Various events and celebrations take place regularly at Freedom Square, including holiday festivities, fairs, exhibitions, and New Year’s celebrations.
